1. Tell us what you need
Start by telling us what type of work you need and where you live. You can search by trade (for example, electrician, plumber or roofer) and by town, city or postcode area.
You can change or refine your search at any time. There is no commitment until you choose to contact a tradesperson.
2. See verified tradespeople in your area
We show you tradespeople who cover your location and type of job. Many will be verified, which means we have checked key details like insurance, ID and video profiles.
You can read more about our checks on how we vet tradespeople.
3. Compare profiles and choose who to contact
Each profile gives you useful information before you decide who to speak to, such as:
- Services offered and areas covered.
- Verified badges and key details about their business.
- Photos and, where available, video introductions.
You can shortlist a few options and take your time before reaching out.
4. Get in touch and agree the job
When you are ready, contact one or more tradespeople to discuss your job, timings and price. We recommend getting a clear written quote and only going ahead when you understand what is included.
Our safety tips explain simple steps you can take to feel comfortable on the day.
5. Keep notes for next time
After the work is finished, it can help to keep your own notes about who you used, what was agreed and how the job went. That way, it is easier to decide who to contact for future work.
